The Villanova University team started their season at this low-key Haverford College meet. The race is basically an un-scored dual-meet against Haverford with the first seven places being taken by Villanova runners. The Kiwi trio of Hugo Beamish (19:50), Matthew Mildenhall (19:51) and Carl MacKenzie (20:00) placed 2nd, 3rd, and 4th in what appears to have been a controlled pack run.

Stanford Invitational  -  Haverford, Pennsylvania  -  Sept 26th

In her last year at the University of Nevada Mandy Russ (23:11) ran her best time ever for 6km XC in finishing 91st at the competitive Stanford Invite.

Roy Griak Invitational  -  Minneapolis, Minnesota  -  Sept 26th

The Roy Griak Invitational has traditionally been one of the largest XC events in the US with many of the top division I, II, and III teams competing here, although in 2009 the fields were significantly weaker than in previous years. Lauren Fayen (25:19) finished 152nd in the Women's Gold Race.

Holly (17:32) and Lucy van Dalen (17:34) finished 1-2 in their first outing of the season. The next race for the Stony Brook teammates is at the MET Champs on October 9th.
